Keittoa kylmyyteen

Maistuva bataattikeitto talven kylmiin iltoihin ja kevään odotteluun. Makua keitto saa inkivääristä, chilistä ja kookosmaidosta. Itse käytin kookosmaitoa ohjeessa olevan kookoskerman sijaan. Alkuperäinen resepti löytyy täältä.

Pakkaset kaikkosivat ainakin toistaiseksi etelä-Suomesta. Kerkesin kuitenkin ikuistamaan kauniit kuurankukat verannan ikkunoista.

This tasty sweet potato soup is perfect for winter evenings. It's seasoned with ginger, chili and coconut milk. Original recipe can be found from here. 

Few weeks ago we had colder weathers and I managed to take photos from frozen windows from verandah. 

Sweet potato soup

1 sweet potato 

1 onion 

2 carrots 

2 potatoes 

vegetable oil 

little piece ginger 

half chili 

vegetable stock 

1 can coconut cream/milk 

salt and pepper 

(coriander for decoration)

Peel and cut sweet potatoes, carrots and potatoes. Peel onion and ginger and cut them into pieces. Cut chili and take of the seeds. Sauté vegetables in oil in a saucepan for a while, add chili and ginger. 

Add vegetable stock until vegetables are covered. 

Bring to boil and cook until vegetables are cooked. Add coconut cream and season with salt and pepper. Use hand blender to mix the soup until smooth. Cut some coriander to decorate the soup. Enjoy!

Päivän löytö

Huomasin ruotsalaisessa sisustuslehdessä jutun pienen jutun Hans Blomquistin The Natural Home kirjasta. Kirja herätti heti kiinnostusta ja niinpä päätin sen itselleni hankkia. Kirja on täynnä ihastuttavia kuvia ja sitä voikin selailla aina uudestaan ja uudestaan. Kirjan inspiroimana toinkin tänään hiukan luontoa sisään. Lumen alta paljastuneet kuivuneet kasvit olivat kauniita sellaisenaan.

I noticed a small article on swedish interior magazine about Hans Blomquist's book The Natural Home. I decided to get this book to myself and I have liked it a lot. It's full of lovely photos and I can look it through over and over again. Inspired by the book I took some nature to my home today. We have had a lot of snow which has now melted a lot and dried plants were revealed. I think they look beautiful just the way they are.

Talvi tuli

Tällä viikolla saapui talvi meillekin. Lumi on kaunista. Toivottavasti se pysyy talven loppuun saakka. Kuvat on otettu sisältä ja odotan innolla, että pääsisin ulos kuvaamaan.

Winter started this week. I think that snow is really beautiful and hopefully it will last until the end of this winter. These photos are views from my home. I can't wait to get outdoors to take photos.
